Swap rows into columns and vice versa using transpose in Excel.

Have you got some data, but you need to swap the rows into columns?

Easily Done! Follow along through this simple tutorial or follow the steps below.

You have collected some data and put it into Microsoft Excel. We have all been there when we realise the data would have worked better if the columns were rows and vice versa. Do not worry, this can easily be corrected following the simple steps below.

  1. Select the data then right-click to ‘Copy’.

  2. Right-click on an empty cell and choose the ‘Transpose’ paste option.

And just like that, the data has been swapped so the rows are now columns and vice versa.
