You will soon be able to view LinkedIn profiles in your Teams chats

Microsoft is bringing two of its most popular apps together to help you and your people communicate better and be even more productive.

If you didn’t know already, Microsoft isn’t just about Windows, 365 and Xbox. It also owns the business social media platform LinkedIn.

The tech giant is going to be bringing two of its most popular apps – LinkedIn and Teams – together to help you and your people communicate better and be even more productive.

You may think it can’t be possible to bring more helpful features to the platform of Teams but believe us it is possible and that is exactly what is about to happen.

Microsoft recently announced that it has been working on a new feature which will allow you to see colleagues’ LinkedIn profiles during eprsonal chats in Teams.

We are liekly to see this new feature in March and while it will only be available in 121 chats to begin with, there is the possibility that it will become a feature available across all chats.

This update could see the process of finding the right people for upcoming prodjects and keeping up-to-date on news from colleagues and anyone else you work with a whole lot easier.

Microsoft bought LinkedIn back in 2016, for an eye-watering $26 billion, to try to break into the social media space.

It’s done pretty well with that, wouldn’t you say?

Thanks in huge part to the pandemic, productivity and communication tools like Teams have become a staple for businesses across the world. Many companies would now find it difficult to function without the likes of Teams, despite a lot of workers now being back in the office.

Teams currently has over 270 million active monthly uses and LinkedIn has 810 million members in 200 countries around the world. Makes sense to join these two platforms together right!

So what could this mean for your business? How are you likely to make use of this new feature? And are ther enay other features you would like to see in Teams in the future?
