Case Study · We Do Play

13 Sites. 4 Brands. One IT Partner.

We Do Play needed technology that worked on launch day at every new venue — and kept working as the estate grew. Over 2.5 years and 13 sites, Little Big Tech has been the partner that makes both happen.

The client

A leisure group opening venues across the UK — fast.

We Do Play is a multi-brand leisure group operating across the UK. Its brands — Flip Out UK, Activate UK, Putt Putt Social and Rumble Rooms — run high-footfall venues where reliable technology is not a nice-to-have. Point-of-sale systems, guest Wi-Fi, CCTV, telephony and back-office connectivity all need to work from the moment the first customer walks in.

As the group has grown, it has opened venues steadily — each with a hard launch date that does not move and a requirement for consistent technology across a distributed, growing estate.

The challenge

Tech that has to work on day one — and every day after.

Every new venue involves a complex web of suppliers — AV, payment systems, access control, broadband providers — all converging on the same opening date. The IT has to be coordinated across all of them, installed correctly, and live before the venue opens.

Then once a site is live, it needs ongoing support that understands the environment — a venue that cannot take payments or check guests in is losing trade every minute it is down.

What we do at every site

End-to-end technology for each new venue — procured, built and installed.

01Connectivity

Procured and provisioned for each venue — the right connection type and capacity for a high-footfall leisure site.

02Network design and installation

A structured, reliable network built to handle staff, payment systems and guests simultaneously.

03Wi-Fi and dedicated guest Wi-Fi

Separate SSIDs for operations and guests, with the bandwidth and coverage a busy venue demands.

04Computer and tablet setup and installation

Every device staged, configured and ready to work on the day the doors open.

05Cyber security advice and services

Protection that fits the environment — point-of-sale systems, guest access and staff devices all treated separately.

06CCTV setup and handover

Installed, tested and handed over with staff trained on day one.

07Supplier coordination

LBT works directly with the client's other suppliers — AV, payment systems, access control — to make sure every system works together before launch.

How it works

Nothing is improvised on launch day.

LBT procures all the hardware for each new site, then stages and builds it at its own projects office before delivery. Every device is configured, tested and ready before anyone sets foot in the venue.

That means the on-site install is a delivery, not a build. The team that delivers it is the same team that supports the venue once it is live — there is no handoff between a project team and a support team, no gap in knowledge, no renegotiation of what was agreed.

Once live, LBT runs proactive site checks to protect uptime — because for a high-footfall leisure venue, downtime is not an inconvenience. It is lost trade.

“Little Big Tech have been instrumental in providing cutting-edge solutions that ensure uninterrupted communication, enhanced collaboration, and superior performance across our multiple brands. What truly sets them apart is their commitment to going above and beyond — they proactively identify challenges, offer tailored solutions, and ensure that businesses get the most out of their investments. Their dedication to service excellence means that organisations not only stay connected but thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.”
